KEY LOOKS S/S 2014 - PART 2

ALL WHITE

Although less visible, white is another shade that can be elegant and sophisticated. Designers went bold over fashion week, pulling together over-the-top white on white outfits. This style tends to get tricky depending on the different shades of white or textures used, but I surprisingly loved the combinations that were created on the runway. These are beautiful summer attires, just waiting to be worn. Anyone say summer yet?

OVERLOAD

Now you're probably wondering what is ''Overload''. This is my definition for everything over-the-top. I noticed this season that matching bold patterns with wild prints was very happening. Although somewhat overwhelming, most designers, to my surprise, managed to put together very on-trend looks that can be worn on a day to day basis. I often find designers tend to ''try too hard'' which sometimes lacks in originality, however they managed to create artistic yet fashionable looks with these overwelming prints. Two thumbs up to them! 

MENSWEAR

Another famous comeback on the runway is menswear attire. This trend seems to come and go over the years, but has made a fresh re-appearance with bolder cuts and stronger forms by keeping that very sharp masculine look. This season, designers infuse the look with soft colors and interesting prints creating that added feminine touch.

THE LONGER THE BETTER

This season, the longer the better. Designers across the world are featuring lengthy skirts in various prints, colors and forms. Some embellished with jewels, others showing off the leg with high-rised splits. Although not ideal for a shorter clientele like myself, this trend will be a number one seller in stores across the nation.

KEY LOOK S/S 2014 - PART 1

I always get somewhat excited when fashion week comes around. It's that one time in the year where we can admire all the latest collections of the best designers across the world. Trends are always overlooked, overworn and sometimes misunderstood. This year on the catwalk, the classics striked hard. A return on old favorites and classic cuts came rushing back to the runway in full force.

BLACK ON BLACK

How can anyone go wrong? Black has always been the quintessential color to create that effortless yet stylish look. Whether it's worn for a casual encounter or for some extravagent event, black is always a winner. This classic shade seems to never go out of style, and will reappear for years to come. Many designers through this season's fashion week have pulled together breathtaking pieces. Looking forward to seeing what comes up in stores over the holidays.  

SPORTSWEAR

A new trend that seems to be storming the catwalk this season is sportswear. This year has marked a new trend for everything sports related. Celebrities, models, musicians and other influencial parties have created a buzz on all that surrounds nutrition and health. Even designer Stella McCartney created a full line, Addidas by Stella McCartney, touching all essentials for a proper workout. Did you hear that? We can officially train in style. 

METALLICS

Metalics, metalics and more metalics. This trend has made it's appearance before, but it's coming back full force and everyone seems to be loving it. This season, unlike in the past, the metallic fabrics used were more subdued than usual. This look showcases a strong and empowering personality, creating pieces that women should possess in their closets. 

OVERSIZED

Oversized pieces can be difficult to wear. Unless 6'0 feet tall like most of the models wearing them, these items aren't ideal for smaller individuals like myself. Then again, the designers managed to piece together effortless looks perfect for this upcoming spring. An overload of oversized jackets and knits seem to be what we're expecting in stores for next season.
